Dear Friends and Supporters of the John Quincy Adams Society,
As we approach the beginning of a new year, we would like to thank all our friends and supporters. Our team is grateful for your generous ongoing support, and we hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.
Moving into 2023 we are committed at the John Quincy Adams Society to our goal of identifying, educating, and equipping the next generation of scholars and policy leaders to encourage a new era of realism and restraint in American foreign policy.
This past year we watched our programs and initiatives achieve great success. We are happy to share and recap some of the Society’s highlights from this past year:
- Our first ever Strategic Leaders Fellowship cohort. This program works with professionals who have five to fifteen years of U.S. foreign policy experience. We bring them together for salon dinners with experts, a crisis simulation, and an international study trip. This year’s cohort had eleven fellows, who came to the program from the executive branch, Congressional offices, the military, and industry. We are currently recruiting for a refined and expanded 2023 program.
- Our Marcellus Policy Fellowship trained eighteen early-career professionals and advanced students in the art of writing think-tank-style policy papers, op-eds, and more, paired with grand strategy discussions with experts. This is a proven program – just this week, Spring 2021 Marcellus alum Ethan Kessler had an op-ed on burden-sharing with allies in a major national newspaper.
- We continued to rebuild our campus network after covid, with new and revived chapters on several major campuses. These chapters engage students with status-quo-challenging ideas that they may have never heard before.
- Dr. David C. Hendrickson, the Society’s president, published a book examining the foreign policy thought of John Quincy Adams. The book, intended for distribution to Society members, is available at Barnes and Noble and for free online.
The success of our programs and initiatives would not have been possible without the continued support of our friends and donors. As we head into 2023, we ask for your most generous contribution and support the John Quincy Adams Society. You can help support the Society here: https://jqas.org/donate-now/
