Paid Program Intern, Summer 2025

The John Quincy Adams Society seeks a paid intern for Summer 2025. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience at a core organization in Washington’s growing movement for a more restrained U.S. foreign policy. The intern will be paid and will be an integral part of the Society’s team, contributing to a range of projects that advance the Society’s mission and develop different skill sets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Wargame and Event Assistance: Ensuring things go well with major in-person Society events like wargames or our summer conference. This is an opportunity to show and develop organizing skills while engaging with an array of fascinating events.
  • Security Dilemma podcast support, including research, equipment setup, and possibly audio production.
  • Research support for the Society’s fundraising efforts.
  • Possible other projects as organizational needs and individual interests and abilities merit.

Requirements

  • Good attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Enthusiastic about the Society’s mission and vision.
  • Able to comply with all laws and regulations and appropriately manage risk.
  • Able to work at the Society’s headquarters office in Arlington, VA.
  • Able to work effectively with people all throughout the political spectrum.
  • Discretion.
  • Prior involvement with the Society is a plus.

Compensation is $20 per hour. The position is part-time, capped to 29 hours per week.
